Finance Minister reveals number of successful rates appeals in Coleraine and Limavady.

The Minister of Finance and Personnel, Simon Hamilton MLA has responded to a question by SDLP MLA for East Londonderry, John Dallat regarding the number of successful commercial rates appeals in the Coleraine and Limavady areas.

Mr Hamilton told Mr Dallat that there have been 128 non-domestic valuation challenge cases in the Limavady area over the past three years and 34 of these challenges have resulted in a lower valuation than the original.

The Minister also said the total number of non-domestic valuation challenge cases received for the Coleraine District Council Area over the last three years was 238. Of these cases, 64 resulted in a valuation assessment lower than the initial assessment.
