A fire at the old Abercorn Guest House on the Coleraine Road in Portrush was tackled by NIFRS in the early hours of this morning.

A Northern Ireland Fire & Rescue Service spokesperson said:

“Northern Ireland Fire & Rescue Service (NIFRS) received a call at 3:41am to a report of a fire at derelict premises at the Coleraine Road area of Portrush this morning (Friday 4th March).

“2 Fire Appliances from Portrush Fire Station, and one Fire Appliance each from Portstewart and Coleraine Fire Station were deployed to the scene. An incident command appliance and VEMA appliance from Lisburn Fire Station were also deployed to the scene. Firefighters wearing breathing apparatus and using a number of ground jets and a VEMA fire appliance dealt with a well-developed fire at a derelict 3 storey property in the area. No one was inside the premises during the incident.

“Northern Ireland Fire & Rescue Service finished at the scene at 6:44am and the fire is being treated as deliberate.”
