Firefighters deal with Medium Presssure Gas Leak in Coleraine

Firefighters from Lisburn, Portrush and Maghera were called to Coleraine yesterday to reports of a Gas Leak on the Ballyrashane Road area of the town.

A Northern Ireland Fire & Rescue Service spokesperson said:

“Northern Ireland Fire & Rescue Service (NIFRS) received a call at 1:12pm to a report of a gas leak at the Ballyrashane Road area of Coleraine on Monday 22nd February.

“2 Fire Appliances from Coleraine Fire Station, 2 Fire Appliances from Lisburn Fire Station, one Fire Appliance from Portrush Fire Station and one Fire Appliance from Maghera Fire Station were deployed to the scene. Two residential properties were evacuated as Firefighters assisted engineers with a gas leak in the area.

“Engineers dealt with a medium pressure mains gas leak in the area. Firefighters used one covering jet during the incident.

“Northern Ireland Fire & Rescue Service finished at the scene at 8:16pm.”
