Free iPads for all Westminster MPs.

1 Mins read

When Parliament resumes in May following the upcoming General Election, all 650 MPs will be given a cellular equipped iPad Air 2 as well as a Laptop.

This move could be a big step in advancing technology in Westminster and could potentially save a lot money that would otherwise be spent on printing 650 copies of every piece of legislation that passes through the house, however there are lower priced devices that could do the same job.

The plan is expected to cost £1,000,000 over the 5 year parliamentary term and while some opposition leaders are opposed to this plan, it seems that Apple’s iOS is already heavily integrated with the current infrastructure at Westminster and changing to non-apple devices would be more expensive in the long term.
