1 Mins read

A proposal to legalise Gay Marriage in Northern Ireland has been defeated in the Stormont Assembly for the fourth time.

This comes just hours after the DUP’s Health Minister, Jim Wells MLA announced his resignation after claiming children raised by homosexual couples are more likely to be abused and neglected.

The motion was subjected to a Petition of Concern and was defeated by a vote of 47 to 49 with three abstentions.
