Givan launches Carer’s Allowance Digital Service

1 Mins read

Communities Minister, Paul Givan MLA, has launched the Carer’s Allowance Digital Service in Northern Ireland.

The digital service allows carers across Northern Ireland to claim Carer’s Allowance, or report a change in their circumstances, using an online service.

Launching the service, Minister Givan said “This new service enables carers in Northern Ireland to access the service 24 hours a day, seven days a week from their desktop, laptop, tablet or smartphone.

“We have a significant number of carers throughout Northern Ireland who now have the opportunity to avail of the new digital service. The streamlined online service is designed to be easy to use as people are only asked questions that are relevant to them.

“However, the options to make a paper claim or to report a change in circumstances in writing will still be available for anyone who isn’t able to use the online service or who would prefer not to.”

The Carer’s Allowance Digital Service can be accessed via nidirect – http://www.nidirect.gov.uk/apply-carers-allowance.
