Helicopter Rescue from Rathlin Island

Coastguard Teams from Coleraine and Rathlin Island were involved in the rescue of an elderly lady on Sunday afternoon.

At 1:15pm, Coleraine Coastguard Team was tasked to prepare the Helicopter Landing Site at the Causeway Hospital while the Rathlin Coastguard Team were also tasked to prepare a Landing Site on the island for the arrival of Royal Navy Sea King Helicopter Rescue 177.

An elderly female casualty was flown to Coleraine and handed into the care of the Northern Ireland Ambulance Service .
