Hoax Caller operating in Liscolman area

1 Mins read

Liscolman Community Association have asked residents of the village to be vigilant after they were made aware of a hoax caller operating in the village.

A spokesperson for the community association made people aware via a post on Facebook, saying :”I have just received a message from a member of the village about a man going around Liscolman yesterday claiming to be from Power NI wanting to read the meter.”

“This man seemed legit and even produced an id card. However she was suspicious and contacted both Power NI and NIE and they have said it was a hoax. Please be vigilant folks!”

“Do not let anyone in, you can always contact the company they claim to be from and check their ID for peace of mind before allowing them into your home. Could everyone please share this post and let any elderly neighbours that don’t have Internet access know to be vigilant! Many thanks!”
