Hotel & Spa complex coming to Portstewart?

1 Mins read

A Four Star Hotel & Spa Complex including conference and banqueting facilities could be built near Portstewart in the near future. A Scottish development company has announced a proposal of application notice which starts a pre-application consultation process. This normally leads to a formal planning application.

Commenting on the proposal, the UUP’s Alderman Norman Hillis said :  “I certainly welcome this likely major hotel and spa development on the North Coast which shows great faith in our potential for bringing even more tourists from not only the rest of the UK and Ireland but from all over the world.”

“This development (given a fair wind) should be in place for The Open in 2019. We already have great hotels and guest houses on the North Coast not to mention fantastic restaurants and I would hope this proposed development would complement our already great offering.”

We have no further details at this time.
