Improvements to Castlerock and Whiterocks beaches

1 Mins read

Significant improvements to the Whiterocks and Castlerock beaches have officially been completed.

The work at the Whiterocks includes improved access to the beach with a dune system and boardwalks as well as a new car park and an extension to a visitor amenity building to benefit water sport users. A wooden bridge has also been built to span a small gorge. This takes a section of the Causeway Coast/Ulster Way off the main A2 road and offers stunning views of Dunluce Castle, Curran Strand and Portrush to walkers.

At Castlerock, a new promenade has been built, the car park has been reconfigured and three boardwalks have been constructed to provide easier access to beach.

The projects were funded by Tourism NI, Coleraine Borough Council and the rural development programme
