Injured man evacuated from Giant’s Causeway

Coleraine Coastguard Team was called to the Giant’s Causeway yesterday (Friday 22nd April) to assist with the rescue of an injured man.

A Coastguard Spokesperson said : “The 70 year old had stumbled while exploring the famous columns and had sustained leg and head injuries.

He was given initial assistance by National Trust rangers, before being treated by a NIAS Rapid Response Paramedic.

He was then made comfortable on a Coastguard stretcher before being evacuated from the rocks and taken to hospital by ambulance.”
