1 Mins read

At 1230 on Wednesday 27th July, the Coleraine Coastguard Rescue Team was tasked by CGOC Belfast Coastguard to assist the Ambulance Service with the evacuation of an injured tourist at Carrick-a-Rede Rope Bridge.

The Coastguard Team transported a NIAS Paramedic across fields to reach the casualty, who had sustained a leg injury after crossing the rope bridge.

After she had been stabilised by the paramedic, the casualty was carried up the steep steps leading to the bridge on a stretcher by the Coastguard Team, before being transported in a Coastguard four-wheel drive response vehicle to a waiting ambulance.
