Justice Minister visits Coleraine Town Centre

1 Mins read

Minister of Justice David Ford visited the Diamond, Coleraine last Friday.

Speaking prior to his walkabout, he said: “Investing in town centres and high streets is an important part of our economic recovery.”

Yvonne Boyle, Alliance Assembly Candidate, said: “Our strategy to develop town centres would include reform to business rates to make it easier do entrepreneurs to establish a business in vacant premises, such as scrapping business rates for the first year.

I would, if elected, also support a Business Improvement District model for Coleraine, which has worked well in other areas”.

Ms Boyle, whose late parents were both in business, added: “Alliance would kick start wider government support for small and independent businesses, including business rates reform, improving access to finance and promoting entrepreneurship to young people”.
