1 Mins read

Justice Minister Claire Sugden MLA visited Good Morning Causeway in Coleraine last Wednesday as one of a series of engagements she undertook that day.

Speaking after the visit, Minister Sugden said : “I was delighted to visit the Good Morning Causeway project on Wednesday as part of a series of engagements in the Coleraine area.

The service provides a free, confidential telephone care and alert service for older and vulnerable people across the Causeway area. The team of trained volunteers, led by Project co-ordinator Joann Dunseith, telephone clients to check on their well-being and provide information about local services and organisations that they may find helpful.

Many people benefit from Good Morning Causeway. It helps to address fear of crime and feelings of vulnerability and isolation. It also gives peace of mind to family members by providing a support network for their loved ones.

Good Morning Causeway operates from West Bann Development where I am pleased to be the Chairperson. It once again highlights the vital contribution of the community and voluntary sector in providing essential services within communities.”
