Lifeguards returning to Causeway Coast.

1 Mins read

RNLI lifeguards will be making a welcome return to beaches on the Causeway Coast over the Easter holidays.

The charity’s lifeguards will be keeping people safe on Benone Strand, Portstewart Strand, East Strand, West Strand and Whiterocks Beach in Portrush.

Patrols begin on Good Friday, 3rd April between 11am and 7pm and will continue daily to Sunday 12th April, after this, there will be lifeguards present every weekend until end of June, when daily patrols will begin for the summer season on all lifeguarded beaches across the province.

Ahead of Easter, the RNLI has echoed its advice to people planning a beach trip to stay well away from dangerous cliff edges which have been impacted by recent weather conditions.

Last year, RNLI lifeguards in Northern Ireland responded to 251 incidents, assisting 284 people across the Easter and Summer season.

For more information on the beach you plan to visit, you can download the RNLI’s Beachfinder app to find lifeguarded beaches and more information. See RNLI.org/beach
