Limavady Woman jailed for stubbing cigarette out on Police Officer’s Collar

1 Mins read

29 year old Limavady woman Katy Shannon has been sentenced to ten months in prison for stubbing a cigarette out on a Police Officer’s collar and trying to kick another.

The offences took place on April 3rd of last year when Police were called to a nightclub where they had received reports of a woman assaulting the door staff. When they arrived, Police saw Miss Shannon struggling with the door staff. The officers approached her and she lunged at them, stubbing her cigarette out on an officer’s collar.

Miss Shannon was arrested, but Police were called to another incident while she was still in the car. This gave Shannon opportunity to climb out of the car and run down the road.

As well as the struggle with door staff, CCTV footage showed Shannon breaking a pub window.
