Local beaches retain Blue Flag Status

The annual Blue Flag and Seaside Awards were held in Portrush this morning.

The Blue Flag is awarded to beaches which have high quality facilities and water quality. Ten beaches in Northern Ireland have successfully retained their Blue Flag status.

Out of the ten beaches retaining the Blue Flag, six of them lie within the Causeway Coast & Glens area.

The beaches are as follows :

  • Castlerock Beach
  • Benone Strand
  • Downhill Beach
  • Portrush West Strand
  • Portstewart Strand
  • Whiterocks Beach, Portrush

As well as the six beaches, Ballycastle Marina has also been awarded a Blue Flag
