Police have seized a significant amount of herbal cannabis and arrested a man in Portstewart in the early hours of this morning.
The arrest and drugs find followed the search of a house in the Swilly Close area.
Superintendent John Magill said: “Officers were called to the house on another matter and once inside got a strong smell of cannabis.
“A search then turned up herbal cannabis with an estimated value of £12,000. The 24 year old man was arrested on suspicion of possession of a class B drug with intent to supply and is being questioned at present.
Superintendent Magill continued: ”Good police work means that a significant quantity of drugs have been removed from sale. We understand that drug misuse is an issue of community concern and we are committed to keeping people safe by tackling drug supply.”
