Officers following up on a report a car had been driven off from a filling station near Coleraine without paying for fuel subsequently stopped it near Londonderry and arrested the driver for suspected motoring offences.
Shortly before noon on Wednesday, a report was made that a car had been driven from the Castlerock filling station without fuel being paid for.
At about 1.30am today, police stopped the car at Clooney Road. The driver was arrested in suspicion of making off without payment, as well as driving while disqualified and without insurance.
The car was seized and will not be released until proof of insurance is provided.
