Man Arrested In Ballymoney Following £30K Herbal Cannabis Find

Detectives from Reactive and Organised Crime Branch have arrested a man and seized a large amount of suspected herbal cannabis with an estimated street value of £30,000 after a car was stopped on the Frosses Road in Ballymoney this afternoon, Monday 15 February.

The 42 year old suspect was arrested on suspicion of possession of class B controlled drug and possessing a class B controlled drug with intent to supply. He is currently in custody assisting police with their enquiries.

Detective Inspector Alan Pyper said: “This pro-active police operation has removed a sizeable amount of illegal drugs and prevented potential harm to many people.

“We are determined to reduce the availability of illegal drugs and would ask anyone who may have any information about illegal drugs in their area to support us in our aim to get drugs off the streets and contact us on the non-emergency number 101. Or if someone would prefer to provide information without giving their details, they can contact the independent charity Crimestoppers and speak to them anonymously on 0800 555 111.”
