Man hospitalised following Assault at Takeaway Restaurant in Derry / Londonderry

Police are appealing for witnesses following an assault that occurred at a takeaway restaurant in the William Street area of Derry/Londonderry in the early hours of Sunday 21 February.

Sometime between 1.30am and 2.30am, an 18 year old man was assaulted and required hospital treatment for his injuries which are not life threatening.

It is believed that a man aged between 35 and 45 may have been involved in the assault. He is thought to be about 5’ 6” tall, of medium build, with blond hair and was wearing a long sleeved blue shirt and blue jeans.

Anyone with any information is asked to contact Strand Road Police Station on the non-emergency number 101, quoting reference number 187 of 21/02/16. Or if someone would prefer to provide information without giving their details, they can contact the independent charity Crimestoppers and speak to them anonymously on 0800 555 111.”
