Man killed in Ballymoney Crash named locally as Olaf McCaw

1 Mins read

A man killed in a two-vehicle crash on the Garryduff Road in Ballymoney this morning has been named locally as Olaf McCaw.

Commenting on the news, Ballymoney Councillor Darryl Wilson said : “I was deeply saddened to learn this morning that Olaf McCaw had passed away as a result of a road traffic collision. Olaf was an absolute gentleman, he always took the time to stop for a chat with friends, a very well known character from Dervock renowned for reciting poetry and yarns. Olaf was well known and loved by many from Dervock and the Ballymoney area.”

“They certainly broke the mould when they made Olaf, the town will be a little less colourful now that he is gone. Thoughts and prayers go out to Olaf’s partner, children and entire family circle at this very sad time”
