McCandless calls for Community Association involvement in developing Community Plan

1 Mins read

At a recent Causeway Coast and Glens Borough Council Corporate policy Committee Meeting, Councillor  William McCandless queried the non involvement of Community Associations at the outset of the inception of the community planning strategy.

Cllr McCandless said : “The proposed strategic partnership involves statutory bodies such as PSNI, NIHE, NIFRS but does not include community associations at the commencement.

“Surely involvement from non statutory bodies would be essential rather than the proposed discussion with community associations in June after initial discussions have taken place.

“Is this not an oxymoron that we are considering a community plan which will not involve community associations at the beginning.”
