Coleraine Ulster Unionist councillor William McCandless has congratulated Coleraine firm Nicobrand which has been honoured with the Queen’s Award for Enterprise.

Councillor McCandless, who is his Party’s Westminster candidate for East Londonderry, said:

“I would like to congratulate Nicobrand on receiving the Queen’s Award for Enterprise. This is a very prestigious award and it is well deserved.

“Nicobrand manufacture grade nicotine ingredients for use in smoking cessation products and export to more than 15 countries worldwide, including Poland, Italy, Korea and the USA.

“Exports are key to the success of Northern Ireland plc and Nicobrand are a tremendous example of the type of company which the local economy needs, providing high-skilled well paid jobs.

“They are a global leader in the nicotine business and this is the second time they have received the Queen’s Award for Enterprise, having won it previously in 2004. Coleraine can be justifiably proud of them.”
