McCandless Responds To “Oil Slick in water at Portstewart harbour”

A number of images are circulating on social media of an oil slick in the harbour at Portstewart today “Sunday 28th February 2016”.

Cllr William McCandless commented on the matter. “It has been brought to my attention by numerous constituents today that there appears to be some sort of oil based contamination in the water at Portstewart harbour. I have been in touch with our environmental health team requesting that a full investigation take place and that remedial work be carried out as soon as possible.

One concerned resident told Causeway Coast Community that there was a strong smell of oil at Portstewart Harbour.
