McKay welcomes progress on Ballycastle Living Well plot

1 Mins read

Sinn Féin MLA Daithí McKay has welcomed the fact that the Health Minister Michelle O’Neill ‘recognises the benefits of the Living Well model’ and that her officials are working with the HSC and voluntary sector to run a pilot of the programme later this year in Ballycastle.

He said : “I believe we need to see a radical change in how we deliver health services and this is a great opportunity for Ballycastle to lead the way in delivering better health and wellbeing outcomes for their community.

“We cannot continue to approach Health the way government has in the past. The new Minister is committed to putting more focus on prevention, on public health and tackling health inequalities. This will be challenging but I am very excited at the prospect of such a pilot taking place here in North Antrim.”
