Motion calls for ‘Equality Impact Assessment’ of Council name

A motion has been submitted to Council calling for an “Equality Impact Assessment” of the name of Causeway Coast and Glens.

DUP Councillor Ian Stevenson submitted the motion and it reads as follows : “That this council agrees that an equality impact assessment be carried out on the council name of Causeway Coast and Glens in respect to its applicability to every citizen of this borough”

The motion, which was seconded by the TUV’s Cllr Boyd Douglas was passed at full council and will be debated at the Corporate Policy & Resources Committee meeting on Tuesday 21st June
