No room for racism in society – McKay

1 Mins read

Sinn Féin MLA Daithí McKay has called on DUP MP, Sammy Wilson to clarify his position on remarks made by a constituent who said there was a need to “get the ethnics out.”

Mr McKay said;

“Sammy Wilson needs to clarify his response to these remarks which are totally unacceptable. There must be no endorsement or support for such intolerance.

“Regardless of people’s views on membership of the EU there can be no place for racism, sectarianism, homophobia or any other form of discrimination in our society.

“People from diverse backgrounds make a hugely positive contribution to our lives, economy, public services and culture. They should be valued, not insulted.”
