Parkhill delighted at decision to freeze bus and rail fares for 2016

1 Mins read

UKIP candidate for East Londonderry, Steven Parkhill, “delighted” at decision to freeze bus and rail fares for 2016.

“The decision by Transport Minister Michelle McIlveen and Translink to freeze bus and rail fares for 2016 is fantastic news for the consumer.

I’ve no doubt this measure will help entice more people to make their daily commute, or even to visit other areas of the province using public transport.

As someone who regularly uses public transport, it presents great money savings for the customer. Public transport is considerably cost effective in comparison to using taxis and is considerably cheaper than owning and operating a car.

Using public transport also helps reduces pollution and road congestion. The decision to freeze fares is superb for everybody.”
