Steven Parkhill, UKIP’s candidate for East Londonderry in the upcoming Northern Ireland Assembly elections has welcomed the announcement by Transport Minister Michelle McIlveen that Community Transport Operators are to benefit from £60,000 worth of extra funding.
Mr Parkhill said: “I welcome the recent announcement that additional funding will be provided to assist community transport operators and provision of concessionary fares.
Community Transport operators, provide an important extremely useful, indispensable service to the most vulnerable members of our community, by removing barriers to social exclusion and allowing easier access to vital services.
This extra funding of £600,000 will have a positive impact across Northern Ireland, in particular the North Coast area.”
