‘On Monday 16 May, police on patrol in the Portrush area observed a vehicle being driven in a suspicious manner. Following an attempt to stop the vehicle by police, the passenger jumped from the car and ran off through fields. He was pursued by police for approximately a mile and was arrested having attempted to hide a suspicious package. Police recovered the package and it was found to contain drugs with a street value of about £3600.
Police enquiries are continuing at this time to apprehend the driver of the car.
