Police in Coleraine are trying to identify a man who approached a child in suspicious circumstances in the area of Maple Drive around 6.30pm on January 18th.

Constable Lennox explains: “The man is described as being approximately 50 years old and of a heavy build with a big belly, dark hair and a dark beard. He spoke with a local accent and was wearing a black coat with the hood up, blue jeans and brown shoes.

The man did not physically harm the child however he did speak to her causing her to run away. Anyone who could help with our enquiries can contact us on the non-emergency number 101.”
