Police Officer found dead at Ballymoney Police Station

A Police Officer has been found dead at Ballymoney Police Station.

While few details are known, the Belfast Telegraph are reporting that officers were informed that their colleague had died following an incident that occurred at the station yesterday.

Superintendent Tony Callaghan said: “Police are investigating the sudden death of a 55 year old police officer in Ballymoney Police Station on April 18th.

“We are not treating the death as suspicious.”

“The Police Ombudsman office has been informed.”

Update : 15.35 : The Officer has been named as Inspector Peter MaGowan
