Yesterday afternoon, we shared out a post from Millburn Community Association that mentioned a proposal to re-develop the cornfields that lie between the estates of Millburn and Ballysally to create an outdoor activity centre.
Well, today we can reveal what the Community Associations plans are and they are rather interesting.
The plans will begin with the initial re-development of the land between the two estates to make it available for community use.
The second phase of the project will be to develop “Activity Zones” consisting of Sensory Gardens, Children’s Allotments, an Outdoor Learning area and Willow Huts.
As well as what has been listed above, a Youth Area with WiFi access will be developed, as well as Bee Hives, a Wild Flower Meadow and Community Allotments.
Finally, the Outdoor Activity Centre will be created, including a play park, areas for sports, and possibly much more.
While these plans do not seem to have been finalised in any way, they would certainly bring a new lease of life to the area and would benefit both parents and children of the estates and we look forward to seeing how these plans are put in to action.
