Reception to be held for Northern Ireland National Football Team

1 Mins read

Council voted in favour of holding a reception for the Northern Ireland Football Team in Causeway Coast and Glens.

The vote came following a motion being brought forward by Limavady UUP Councillor Aaron Callan who was backed by his UUP colleagues.

The motion had previously failed to gain support from members of the Council’s Corporate Policy Committee after Sinn Fein tabled an amendment to the motion, calling for council to invite the Republic of Ireland team as well as the Northern Ireland team.

This amendment was also tabled at full Council last night, however it failed to gain support and was not passed.
