Reduced opening hours for Libraries in Causeway Coast and Glens.

Opening hours at Libraries across the Causeway Coast and Glens area are to be reduced in October of this year.

The board of Libraries NI held a public consultation on Library opening hours earlier this year after having it’s budget reduced by £2.4m.

The Libraries affected and their reduced hours are listed below:

  • Coleraine – Reduced from 53 – 50 hours per week
  • Limavady – Reduced from 45.5 – 40 hours per week
  • Ballycastle – Reduced from 37.5 – 35 hours per week
  • Portrush – Reduced from 38.5 – 28 hours per week
  • Portstewart – Reduced from 40 – 35 hours per week

Dungiven Library will open for an extra half hour per week, bringing it’s opening hours up to 25.5 per week.

Opening hours at Ballymoney, Garvagh and Kilrea libraries remain unchanged.
