Portstewart Town Hall is set to receive some long overdue renovations and investment.
The Town Hall has bore the brunt of the extreme winter weather conditions for a number of years due to it’s sea-front location and has sustained large amounts of damage both to the outside and inside. A lot of this damage is caused by leaking water.
The hall’s facade is to be repaired while a detailed report on the condition of the hall is completed. The repair of the facade is hoped to prevent further water damage and increase the structure’s stability in the short term.
There are fears that the hall may have to close while renovations are taking place, however a decision will not be made until the report on the hall’s condition is completed.
