Rodd Hogg’s one man show at Lodge Hotel raises over £1,000 for local charity

1 Mins read

A fantastic total of £1,180.00 was raised on Thursday night when Rodd Hogg appeared at the Lodge Hotel in his first ever one man show in the town. Whilst billed as a free show the audience were asked for donations and they enthusiastically coughed up the aforementioned “magic” amount.

Compere for the night was Brian Moore who warmed up the crowd by accepting Rodd’s challenge to perform a card trick of his own and coupled it with a smattering of jokes. An especially commissioned video came next which served as an intro for Rodd Hogg who then appeared from behind the screen and proceeded to baffle, astound and thoroughly entertain the capacity crowd with a plethora of mind blowing illusions.

David Boyle MBE, whose Jail and Bail Charity Fund the event was supporting, said that he had never seen anything like it and said “I saw it but I still don’t believe it” he enthused. The cameras were also there from Irish TV and their series on the local star that has already been filmed commences on Sky Channel 191 and on IrishTV.ie this Thursday. No doubt clips of this most recent show will find their way in to the series.

An emotional Rodd couldn’t believe the amount raised “from a wee nigmht in a local hotel” and pledged it wouldn’t be long before he did something similar again. He expressed his thanks to all concerned who helped including Mark Connolly whose company Event AV (NI) provided the wonderful sound and lighting effects that great complemented the night.
