Sand Dunes set alight at Castlerock Beach

Firefighters were called to tackle yet another fire at the Sand Dunes on Castlerock Beach on Saturday evening.

A Northern Ireland Fire & Rescue Service spokesperson said:

“Northern Ireland Fire & Rescue Service (NIFRS) received a call at 5:58pm to a report of a fire at the Castlerock Beach, Castlerock area of Coleraine on Saturday 4th June

“1 Fire Appliances from Coleraine Fire Station was deployed to the scene of grass on sand dunes alight in the area. Firefighters using beaters dealt with the incident.

“Northern Ireland Fire & Rescue Service finished at the scene at 6:24pm and the fire is being treated as deliberate.”
