Sinn Féin candidates call for resolution on Garvagh Care Home

Sinn Féin assembly candidates for East Derry Cathal Ó hOisín MLA and Caoimhe Archibald have met with management, staff and residents at the Garvagh care home which is under threat of closure.

Ms. Archibald after the meeting said “myself and my colleague Cathal Ó hÓisín met with management, staff and residents on Tuesday to discuss the threat of closure. We took on board their concerns and offered any assistance we could to ease those concerns.”

“The announcement of the intention to close Four Seasons in Garvagh has of course caused great upset to the residents, their families and also to the staff, who are all facing much uncertainty.”

Mr. Ó hÓisín added “We have been informed of the potential for a takeover of the services there. We welcome any chance that these services may be retained and that minimum disruption and stress is caused for residents as the closure date is looming in February. Everyone involved would like to enjoy a stress free holiday period so the quicker this situation is cleared up the better, the alternatives are frankly disconcerting.”Crioch
