Social Media rife with reports of Dog Snatchers.

Over the past number of days, Social Media has been rife with reports of Dog Snatchers operating in the Triangle Area, Limavady and further afield.

These reports state that the fence posts at homes of dog owners are being marked to signal to these dog snatchers that there is a dog at the house.

We ourselves have received reports and pictures of the marked fences and Police in Limavady have appealed on Facebook for any more information in relation to this, while stressing that they have received no reports of any actual thefts.

Derry Now have also reported on a similar operation in the Derry/Londonderry area.

We urge anyone who has any information regarding these operations to contact the PSNI on their non-emergency number, 101.
