1 Mins read

Independent MLA Claire Sugden has welcomed the appointment of Eddie Lynch as Commissioner for Older People and has said she looks forward to working with him.

In a statement, MLA Sugden said:: “I welcome the appointment of a new Commissioner for Older People in Northern Ireland, Eddie Lynch.

The role of the Commissioner is to champion older people, to represent them and to advocate their issues.

Mr Lynch has big shoes to fill replacing Claire Keatinge, who was committed to progressing the needs of older people.

Older people make significant contributions to society and within our local communities. It has always been my priority that we protect services for older people.

I look forward to working with the new Commissioner.”
