Causeway Coast and Glens TUV Councillor Sharon McKillop has branded the theft of a Union Flag from the War Memorial in Bushmills as “grossly insulting” to the memory of those who fought and died during both World Wars

“I am outraged that the the Union Flag which flew beside Bushmills War Memorial was stolen on Monday evening or Tuesday morning.

“This is not only offensive to the Unionist people of the area but grossly insulting to the memory of those – both Unionist and Nationalist – who fought under the Union Flag during two World Wars.

“I am glad that the flag was quickly replaced and commend those who did so.

“Anyone with information about this theft should immediately contact the PSNI.”
