Police are investigating an incident of criminal damage at licenced premises on Main Street in Dungiven on the evening of Sunday 17th January.
The window of the premises, which was closed at the time, was broken just before midnight. It was reported that a tumble dryer was thrown at the window.
Anyone with any information should contact police in Limavady on 101.
What’s wrong with the schooling in Dungiven? Are the residents not taught anything about bricks and bottles? Also where the hell do you find a tumble dryer at midnight on a Sunday? I hope the PSNI are investigating the crime fully. If some electrical goods store has been open late in the evening I would like to think that the PSNI would be putting real resources into ascertaining if some business was not complying with Sunday trading legislation and if a business is found to be in breach of the law then proceeding quickly to prosecution. The important crime here is likely not to be the broken window. It is probably someone not respecting The Lord’s day and buying large kitchen appliances on a Sunday outside allowed trading hours. This is a disgrace. I think it is high time that Gregory Campbell made a sectarian comment about this.
