Unconscious teenager rescued from Sand Dunes at Portrush East Strand

Coleraine Coastguard Rescue Team were called to the East Strand in Portrush yesterday evening in support of the Ambulance Service, who had received a report of an unconscious teenage boy in the sand dunes.

After a brief search, in heavy rain, the casualty was located about 300m into the dunes.

He was given immediate first aid and transferred on a Coastguard stretcher to a waiting NIAS ambulance.

PSNI officers and the RNLI Lifeguards at the East Strand also assisted the Coastguard Team with the evacuation.
