Upperlands Security Alert ends following Controlled Explosion

The security alert in Upperlands has now ended.

ATO examined a suspicious object discovered in the area and, following a controlled explosion, have declared it to be an elaborate hoax.

Oakvale Terrace has now reopened to traffic and all residents have returned to their homes.

Detectives are appealing for anyone with any information about the incident to contact them in Cookstown on the non-emergency number 101. Information can also be passed anonymously via the independent charity Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
