Councillor Russell Watton attended a charity boxing match on Friday night organised by Freeman Memorial Flute Band to raise funds for Altnagelvin Intensive care unit, Coleraine Accident and Emergency and Musgrave Rehab.

Commenting on the night Cllr Watton said : “This Is a very worthy cause and Freeman Memorial have to be congratulated for putting such an effort into this event. The three charities chosen were crucial to saving the life of their band captain Bryan Freeman nearly a year ago and they wanted to repay that debt.”

“It’s refreshing to publish a good news story for a loyalist band when the media seem intent on demonising our community”.
