Plans to erect a wind turbine in the Dun-a-mallaght Road in Ballycastle have been refused after receiving 43 letters of objection.
The application was refused for a number of reasons, including that it would have an unacceptable impact on the visual quality of the area, it would have an unacceptable visual impact on the tourist area, and applicant failed to show that there wouldn’t be a detrimental noise impact to local properties and and also failed to show that the impact to aviation safety would be acceptable.
An office meeting is to be arranged with planners and representatives for the applicant.
