Wright Recycling Limited was fined £6,000 on Friday at Newtownards Magistrates’ Court for breaches of waste management legislation.
The Company with a registered office at Movilla Road, Newtownards, pleaded guilty to three charges relating to deposit and keeping of controlled waste without the appropriate authorisation.
Company director, Mr David Wright was also fined a total of £3,000 for the same offences.
Landowner, Mr Leslie Wright was given a conditional discharge for 12 months for permitting waste to be deposited on his land.
Between April and December 2013, officers from the Northern Ireland Environment Agency investigated a site at 124 Movilla Road, Newtownards and found that controlled waste had been deposited and was being kept on land without a waste management licence.
