Year 8 and 9 Pupils familiarisation visits for Coleraine Grammar School

1 Mins read

In order to assist in their transition into a new school life in Coleraine Grammar School, on Friday 19th June and Tuesday 23rd June, Years 8 and 9 pupils from Coleraine High School and Coleraine Inst embarked on visits of the two sites.

The aim of the visits was to help pupils familiarise themselves with the different buildings and classrooms before they begin their new school year in September. As well as having guided tours of the schools, some of the pupils took part in fun, team-building activities run by the RAF and also did some work in groups on what they were looking forward to in Coleraine Grammar School.

Some examples of what pupils said they were looking forward in September include “new teachers”, “new uniform and new sports” and “new friends”.

Overall, these days were enjoyable and useful for both members of staff and pupils from both existing schools.
